![]() ![]() The implications are clear: Hanuska is the one who severed the cables at the Pig Shed, to punish other Villagers for what they did to her. When killed, Hanuska drops a Knife and a Cable. It carries the Unburned Doll, which is an identical version of the Doll found in the crate located next to Hanuska. It took form of the unique Small Red Chomper. Her child can still be found inside the Well. Following this event, the other villagers took Hanuska's child away, throwing it into the Village Well and burned down her house. Hanuska is a village woman who at some point gave birth to an 'abomination' of which "even them mongrels tucked their tails and yelped when they saw it". There is a Burned Doll in a crate next to her.Ī piece of dialogue with the Chicken Lady reveals her name and backstory. Only after he leaves her behind, she will mutter: Initially, she does not respond to the Protagonist's presence. She can be found sitting in a chair in the ruins of her house. She is a wife and mother, grieving after the death of her husband and child which was caused by the Villagers. Hanuska is a minor character in Darkwood that can be found in the Village. If I'm somehow doing something similar to cause the Musician not to show up when he should then I unfortunately have no way of knowing. This section contains minor spoilers. It could indeed be a glitch for him not to show up too - I have encountered a similar glitch where I fixed the Elephants' generator when it was getting dark (so rather than go straight in and talk to them, I ran back to my hideout), the next day when I returned there was no response from them and I could not get in. ![]() I've played the game several times now and never gotten the Musician to show up in Chapter 2, nor have I watched any playthrough where anyone else managed to get him to show up. ![]() I hope it's not down to chance, but that could well be a game mechanic! Though I had seen one thread where the devs had said there were specific conditions that needed to be met (but they wouldn't say what they were). Side with Musician (don't continue his questline after giving key) + leave sow alone (plus fix the cable?) + show Mushroom granny the child's drawings so that I can take the boy without bloodshed. If I give the key to the Musician but never fetch his mother's violin, does that mean he'll stay safe? I hope so, it's what I will try this time: Hmm, perhaps instead of my original plan to eliminate any reason for him to remain in Chapter 1, I'll try a "good karma" run as suggested to give the Musician a reason to follow me. I've been going by the wiki, which unfortunately is quite outdated, so I had thought it was compulsory that the sow was killed. The test will be if it is actually replicable. I've kinda given up trying to make it happen, but hopefully it will trigger again during a future playthrough and I'll try to remember the exact storyline choices made in chapter 1. or perhaps siding with neither and using the key myself). Perhaps it is just a rare event in the same way that the banshee leaving a foetus in the hideout is super rare (I've only had this happen a handful times).Īll I can remember from the times in which the chapter 2 musician event did occur was I was pretty much making only 'good karma' choices in chapter 1 (helpful/kind, not selfish/greedy choices, most likely siding with the musician. Maybe the event isnt guaranteed to happen even under the 'right conditions', maybe there is a % chance of the event occuring under certain conditions. This could explain why there are no known 100% assured ways to force the event (yet). Therefore this would make me rule out some, or all, of the things I did to try and trigger it. Any potential glitch would lead me to think that I did the 'wrong things' to trigger his appearance. therefore I also haven't ruled out the possibility that it might be a glitch whenever the event does not trigger. If however it is something which can be triggered in every playthrough I agree that it is most likely based on very specific storyline decisions but I haven't ruled out the possibility that it is also chance-based because I'm fairly sure that I've made the same choices in other playthroughs which triggered the event first time around but it didn't happen again. ![]() I used to think the only condition was 'keep him alive and he MIGHT show up again later' (this might still be the case). This is an interesting one, in countless playthroughs I have only triggered this event twice, maybe three times. ![]()
